Systems and infrastructure engineer with thirty years of experience across storage, networks, streaming media and enterprise platforms, including fourteen years at Hewlett-Packard and my own practice since 2014. Most of what I do is the part that has to keep working: diagnosing failures in systems that nobody fully documented, and then making sure the fix holds.
Running now, as of 2026-09-30: a small self-hosted fleet of my own, a scheduled voice check on roughly two dozen public payphones across Maine, and a field-note system that starts on a phone in a watermelon field.
